But with the DUI, he's still a road retard.

New reports have surfaced pointing to the innocence of actor Shia LaBeouf in Sunday’s vehicle fender-bender.

Authorities have declared that the actor, whose passenger was Transformers sequel co-star Isabel Lucas, was not responsible for the early-morning road mishap in Los Angeles and pinned the blame on the other driver who reportedly ran a red light, thus officially making him a road retard.

Sheriff Steve Whitmore reported that unidentified driver #2 ran the light and will therefore be given a citation diploma, too. A little late for that, innit?

LaBeouf was charged with a misdemeanor DUI and had to undergo surgery for his injured left hand. Lucas and the other driver weren’t seriously harmed.

The Transformers star’s pickup truck ran into another vehicle at around 3am Sunday in West Hollywood while LaBeouf was trying to make a left turn at the intersection of LaBrea and Fountain avenues. The collision caused his Ford F150 to roll over. Initial reports tagged him as the erring party.

But as Whitmore said, the actor “was not at fault.”

So, uhm... should we take out the champagne glasses now?
